With less than a tenth-of-a-second separating the top three, the top five within two-tenths of a second, there is more evidence that the series will be ultra-competitive.

Eduardo Barrichello was the quickest in the session with a lap timed at 131.358 seconds. He was one of three Pabst Racing drivers in the top five, with Matthew Round-Garrido and Yuven Sundaramoorthy grabbing the third and fourth spots. Joining the Pabst Racing drivers were Christian Rasmussen and Wyatt Brichacek, a pair of Jay Howard Driver Development drivers.

The second of three 45-minute USF2000 practice sessions got underway at “America’s National Park of Speed,” right on time at 10:45 am.

Early on, it was veterans Rasmussen and Sundaramoorthy the were the quickest.

The red flag came out for only four minutes, with 25-minutes remaining in the session. The quickest driver at that point in the session was Rasmussen, with a lap at 131.452 seconds.

The rest of the top ten were, Yuven Sundaramoorthy, (Pabst Racing), Wyatt Brichacek (Jay Howard Driver Development), Jack William Miller (Miller Vinatieri Motorsports), Reece Gold (Cape Motorsports), Michael d’Orlando (Cape Motorsports), Cameron Shields (Legacy Autosport), Nolan Siegel (Jay Howard Driver Development), Josh Green (Cape Motorsports) and Eduardo Barrichello (Pabst Racing).

With 12-minutes remaining in the test session, the top ten were the same, and none of them had been able to turn quicker laps on their used Cooper Tires.

Barrichello, with ten minutes left in the session was the first to lower his lap time and move to the top of the timing screens with a lap of 131.393 seconds.

The second red flag of the session was shown with just over six minutes remaining for an incident involving Miller Vinatieri Motorsports rookie Max Kaeser.

The green flag did come back out with just under two minutes left in the session, allowing drivers to complete one more lap at speed.

A total of 19 drivers turned 244 laps. The busiest driver was Ayrton Ori, who turned 16 laps behind the wheel of the Permatex/Spray Nine sponsored No. 27 from the Legacy Autosport stable.

The bottom rung of the Road To Indy Presented by Cooper Tires is back on track at 1:30 pm (CDT) for their final 45-minute test session.
