USAC records are on the line this week as Robert Ballou (left), Kody Swanson (middle) and Tanner Swanson (right) intend to continue their impressive streaks.

**Ballou could become the first driver to win the “Tony Hulman Classic” 3 years in a row Wednesday night at the Terre Haute Action Track.

**K. Swanson could join Al Unser as the second driver to win the “Hoosier Hundred” 4 consecutive years Thursday night at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

**T. Swanson could pass Mike Bliss as the winningest Silver Crown driver ever at Lucas Oil Raceway with another victory Friday night at the Brownsburg, Indiana paved oval.

#42 Terry Babb is the latest to enter his name into the field for this Thursday’s “Hoosier Hundred” at the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Much is and has been written about racing drivers and their exploits over the last century plus. However, journalists and historians alike sometimes overlook the other tangibles that help winning drivers get into victory lane. In horse racing it is the mount that gets the lion’s share of the publicity and sometimes the jockey, no matter how successful takes second stage. In auto racing the driver gets the biggest share of the attention while the mount that takes him to victory lane sometimes takes a backseat. READ MORE

The Tar Heel state may be known for stock car racing, but open wheel racers from North Carolina aren’t the most common sight at an open wheel event, let along the Hoosier 100. But it looks like a North Carolina native, Johnny Petrozelle from Denton, North Carolina, will be traveling to the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the USAC Silver Crown annual Hoosier 100 on May 25. Due to forecasted rains throughout the evening tonight and early afternoon Friday, the May 19 USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car and Midget doubleheader at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois has been cancelled.

Brenden Bright of Collegeville, Pa. led all 20 laps to win Friday night’s USAC Eastern Midget race presented by ARDC at Big Diamond Speedway. Trevor Kobylarz, Brett Arndt, Alex Bright and Ryan Greth trailed at the checkered flight. Alex Bright continues to lead the standings entering tonight’s race at Susquehanna Speedway in York Haven, Pa. READ MORE

Ryan Greth of Newport, Pa. led all 20 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC/ARDC Eastern Midget race at Susquehanna Speedway. Series point leader Alex Bright finished second ahead of Brenden Bright, Brett Arndt and Tommy Kunsman Jr. READ MORE

Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway. The 2013 series champion took the lead on the final lap for the victory. Jeff Champagne led lap one and Andy Barrows led 2-19. Anthony Nocella finished second and Dean Christensen was third, followed by Andy Barrows and Adam Whitney. READ MORE

Friday night’s USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at the Kokomo Speedway was cancelled due to continued rainfall and extremely wet grounds. The race has been rescheduled for Friday, June 30.
